I did an exhaustive research on this style TV and looked at price and reviews as well. I thought it was a little pricey for the one I was originally planning on purchasing, which was the same Samsung TV, but it came with a Video Camera and Update Module, and it was going for 4297.00. The 8700 model was just released a month ago. It was exactly as I pictured it and the delivery by Amazon Prime was exceptional.
The delivery company brought the unit in the house, unboxed the unit, connected the stand, set the unit up and tested it before leaving. It doesn’t get no better than that my friend. I saved over 500.00 dollars by purchasing the 8700 unit and I got set in 3 days after I ordered it online. It was relatively easy to adjust the picture by reading other reviews on the Samsung 9000 system. Individuals who have purchased the 65in curved screen Samsung TV model 9000 have the same settings basically as the 8700. I was impressed with the picture quality and the built sound is ok but if you want better sound get a home theatre setup or Soundbar Speakers. The 4k resolution is a plus and with the Samsung plug in upgrade module feature, it will be a long time before you have to buy another tv unless you want a bigger screen. One other factor you may want to consider is that there is some glare problems with the curved screen but you can eliminate 99 percent of it by how you set it up in your room. Also setting up your screen display settings for optimal viewing.
