This a great game to play. My 4 year old and I can play together and both have fun. He plays Star Wars and Batman Legos and this is right up his alley, with only Boss fights being a bit tough for him. I am picky about which video game I like to play, Super Mario, Batman Legos, game show games and I am really enjoying this game. It is very much like Legos games except you don’t build things. I can see this game being finished quickly, only 22 levels, but the replay value is great as you have to attempt to find all the Scooby snacks and clues and tags in each level. I would recommend this game for those of you who like Legos and Super Mario Galaxy. This is not a difficult game, by any means, but a fun-for-all-family members game.

Very well-polished game that truly captures the feel and character of the original Scooby Doo series. From the excellent voice acting (Fred, Shaggy and Scooby are the stand-outs,) to the laugh track and ‘Chase’ sequences – everything a Scooby fan could want is here. You get the chance to play as different characters as the gang “splits up” to solve a mystery. You may, for example, play as Shaggy and Scooby while they are looking for clues – then, the story line switches and you play as the other members of the gang who are exploring a different area. Sometimes, meeting up and switching characters. Great action sequences, as well. Only animated punching and kicking of the bad guys – not violent in any way.

In general, the difficulty level is relatively easy – making it very accessible for younger gamers. With co-op mode (and the ability of the 2nd player to drop in and out of the game at any time,) my 6 y/o and I have had a great time playing this one together. There are some spots that the younger set will probably need someone to help them with. I originally figured that I would drop in/drop out only when my 6 y/o needed help, but quickly found the two of us playing together for the entire game and having a great time.

The only negative thing that I can point out is that sometimes the camera can get a little wonky and be difficult to follow (a la Super Mario 64,) but this is only a minor complaint and probably true of most 3D games in some regard. It happens realtively infrequently, anyway, so it is really a non-issue in my book.

If you like Scooby Doo, then you should love this game. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the gameplay and accessibilty for the younger gamer. Often times, TV or movie licenses that are made into video games are nothing more than broken shovelware. Not so, here! Torus Games has created a first class product.

The XBOX 360 or PS3 fanboy/fangirl will probably find this game FAR too easy in terms of gameplay. But for the Scooby fan or the casual or younger gamer, it should be a big hit.
