If you’ve played the other lego games this isn’t a big departure or advancement. But it is a continuation of a fun and tested formula. The 2 player co-op mode with the game pad is extremely useful and a thousand times better then split screen game play and less confusing for the kids. This is the definitive version because of this, the gamepad truly makes it shine.

As stated in the other reviews it follows the movie plot with funny cut scenes.

Good for 6+ the 5 year old had a little bit of a hard time with it.

This game does the movie justice! You have great graphics and a storyline that follows the movie at least somewhat. I have played a number of other LEGO games in the past and this one follows suit with similar fun, puzzles and zany antics (but for me that;s part of the fun). The game is for one player, and from beginning to end you are drawn into the action, and I for one did not want to stop. I do wish that there was a two player option so that I could play this with my kids, but alas, I still had a ton of fun. You also get the same voice actors that you have form the movie, which adds a cool connection from the movie as well!

I also was impressed with the depth of the game, as you can definitely beat the game while you are not too far in, but then there are a ton of add-ons and other things that you can unlock that will let you keep playing on and on into the future which makes the game even more fun!

Even my six year old daughter got into the action and was able to control this and have a blast, so young players can enjoy this too!

All-in-all this was an excellent game with great graphics, plot and game play and I highly recommend this to all!

The LEGO Movie Videogame does, in every way, live up to the potential shown in the previous LEGO games. You have all the same silliness, the same kinds of puzzles, and so, so many things to unlock. So, basically, if you like the previous LEGO games, and want more of the same, this is for you.

The plot is, as near as I can tell, the same as in the movie. There’s a world of LEGO that’s inhabited by Emmet, a normal, ordinary guy who finds out that he’s “the Special”, and goes on a quest to save the world from the evil Lord Business. Along the way, he meets the likes of Batman, Abraham Lincoln, and every recent Morgan Freeman character rolled into one, and learns that sometimes building outside the instructions is ok. As a special added bonus, all the characters are voiced by the actors from the movie, so you get Morgan Freeman, Will Farrell, Liam Neeson, etc.

And…that’s about it. You’ll beat the main game with about 35% of the actual game completed, and spend the rest of your life unlocking items and characters. Not that that’s a bad thing. You’ll probably also have a lot of fun, because, come on, LEGO video games are, lately, quite awesome. Oh, and I hope you don’t mind the “Everything is Awesome!” song from the movie because it’s going to be your new best friend in this game.

This is an excellent video game for anyone from about five years old on up. I’m forty-one and I still enjoy it, as well as the other LEGO games. The fact that I’m quite into LEGO, and have been since I was a kid, helps in this. But regardless. It’s a fun game, and I highly recommend it.
