   edit 4/13/16 – ok, now this cable is not working even on the second try. It is taking me three or more tries to get my phone to recognize. It’s only a matter of time before it never works. Glad that I still have a cable (which is a different brand) that works because this one is no good. Downgrading my review to the lowest possible, one star.

   edit on 4/10/16— As promised I am updating my review and star rating after this cable started glitching real fast. Sigh…:(

   Last night when I plugged my phone into the cord which was connected to my laptop via USB, it gave me an error message that “USB device not supported” and it would not charge the phone. I unplugged it and plugged it back into my phone and then it worked. This morning the same thing happened. The first attempt gave me a “USB device not supported” on the computer screen and it wasn’t charging my phone. The second try worked. This is the soonest that i’ve ever gotten these error messages and had trouble with the connector on an iphone charger cord. Very disappointing. I wanted to make it one star but since it is still working I am leaving it at a two star rating. Either way, based on the amount of time I’ve had this and how unreliable it is already, I would NOT recommend this cable.

   I’ve been using this charger cable for a few days and so far it works beautifully. I have used it several times both with my laptop and with one of those external power banks to charge my phone. It doesn’t seem to be any faster or slower, but it does feel sturdier than the other brands of iphone charger cables that i’ve purchased in the past (which has been quite a few. The apple brand ones are just too pricey so i keep on getting generics). Inevitably the generic replacement cables always seem to stop working after about 6 mos or so, a little more if i’m lucky. Then something in the wiring gets loose and my computer will give me an error message and the phone will not charge. I really hope that is not the case with this cable. One would think that it might last longer since it feels like it has a thicker/sturdier coating on the wire and isn’t easily wiggled at the usb port or the piece that connects to the phone. But only time will tell…..

   This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. I am always 100% truthful and honest about my feelings in my reviews. If this cable stops working or if I encounter any problems at all I will immediately update my review and adjust the stars allotted accordingly.

   I have, historically, had *terrible* luck with lightning cables. They all seem to very suddenly stop working at the most inconvenient times. They barely show signs of wear, and then all of a sudden they’re broken. I’ve only had this cable for a week, but I can tell that will not happen. This is clearly a very sturdy and well-built product, and looks to be even better designed than Apple’s own cable, and for a fraction of the cost. The length is perfect, the branding is not too obtrusive, the cable works as intended, and the 12 month warranty seals the deal–I know from experience that this company stands behind its products.
