Install is easy if you are good with electronics, just takes time. The LCD/touch combo is original I checked all the part numbers on the one I removed from my 32g 4g iPod touch. Pictures on amazon are good for reference, to check item that arrives for match. I got mine from ZEETRON. Got more tools than pictured even though you will need a better set, I did not use the ones provided. I do not recommend any of these plastic pry sets or cheap screwdrivers. The display itself is great. After assybly you may or maynot have to hold the home and power button to restore / reset I then compare it to a two month old 4gen 32gig iPod touch and could not tell the differerence All is equal. Hope you have good fortune as we did.
