Currently more and more smartphone makers are removing the Home button from the front panel. As a result, the screen-to-body ratio should increase. One of the first devices coming with ratio over 90% was the Xiaomi Mi MIX. It came with a border-less display at a ratio of 91.3%. The LG G6 has been already announced with a button-less design. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to sport a screen at a ratio of 90%. Thus this is becoming a mainstream. This simply means more and more manufacturers will make similar devices overcoming the issues related with a higher ratio. Even the iPhone 8 is said to be packed with it. So Xiaomi has much to do in order to keep its Mi MIX handsets on the top. The latest rumors say the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will come at a screen-to-body ratio of 93%.

We have already heard a rumor saying this model is going to use an in-glass fingerprint identification technology. Now it turns out the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will have bigger ratio. If this rumor turns into reality, this handset can become the only smartphone with such a feature. But we have also heard there can be another smartphone at higher ratio. The Oppo Find 9 is said to offer a display at 98% screen-to-body ratio. Many can doubt Oppo can ever make something like this. But do not forget this is the second Chinese smartphone maker behind Huawei. Plus, it has already come with the R9 / R9S, a selfie-centric great smartphone sporting a 16MP front camera.

It remains to be seen which handset will have the biggest screen-to-body ratio, but the Xiaomi mi MIX 2 has all chances to beat all of its competitors. Moreover, it’s rumored to come with a ceramic body,  cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology, and an AMOLED display.
