Microsoft is rolling out a new update for the Windows Store to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. The company is making some key improvements to the Windows Store, but these improvements aren’t major. Firstly, the Windows Store now has an improved progress bar for downloads in the Downloads & Updates section. The new progress bar design shows the download speed, which was a much-needed addition. Here is a comparison of the old and new design:

In addition to the improved progress bar design, Microsoft is also introducing interactive notifications for notifications. When you install a new app or update an app, you will now see two buttons on the notifications from the Windows Store that will let you quickly launch the app or pin it to the start menu:

And lastly, the new update brings easier sharing for apps on the Windows Store. Previously, the share icon in the app listings was barely noticeable but now it’s a lot easier to notice since it’s beside the Launch/Install button for app and game listings:

Microsoft seems to be gradually rolling out the new update which brings these new features, and you may not be able to get the update from the Windows Store right away. In case you are wondering, the latest version of the app is 11703.1000.156.0 and it only seems to be rolling out to Insiders in the Fast Ring for now. But as the Creators Update is scheduled to rollout on April 11, I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft starts rolling the latest update to the public in the coming days.

As usual, you can get the latest update for the Windows Store by checking for updates on the Windows Store. Yes.
