The government launches separate Galaxy Note 7 investigation…

Samsung launched its own investigation to determine the cause of Galaxy Note 7 explosions earlier this month, but the company’s engineers haven’t been able to replicate the issue(s) that makes the battery inside the phone so volatile.

Now the media reports the South Korean government has launched a separate investigation to find the cause of the battery problems. The investigation is run by the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), which recently began testing some of the probes obtained from Samsung.

Moreover, the testing lab said that it will not limit its investigation to the testing of the battery inside the Galaxy Note 7. KTL will be using X-ray and computerized technology to test just about anything related to Samsung’s flagship in order to find the cause of the problems.

We have handed over the phones (that caught fire) to KTL and will cooperate with their investigation, but we can’t just sit and wait for its result. We have been mobilizing all possible resources to find the exact cause of the problems as soon as possible,” said a Samsung official.

On top of that, Samsung is also taking into consideration the testing of the faulty Galaxy Note 7 units that were collected by the consumer Product Safety Commission in the United States.

Finding the issues that caused some Galaxy Note 7 units to explode might be mandatory if Samsung is to regain customer trust, especially that the handset maker will soon launch its other flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8.

There are so many labs that are now trying to find the root of the problem inside the Galaxy Note 7’s batteries that it’s just a matter of time before Samsung will come forward with an official statement. For Samsung’s sake, let’s hope that happens sooner rather than later.
