The AMD Athlon 200GE Surfaces – Based on Raven Ridge

240

Interesting, an entry of a product called the “AMD Athlon 200GE” surfaced in the SiSoft database. Athlon is the naming that AMD gained so much popularity with, back in the days. The basis for the new Athlon is Raven Ridge (desktop APU reviews next week).

Basically what you can expect is a mobile Raven Ridge processor, as the colleagues from computerbase noticed, the Athlon 200GE shows there a lot in common with the recently announced Ryzen 3 2200U (notebook APU). This part would see two cores and four threads with clock rates of up to 3.2 GHz, 4 MB of L3 cache, which yeah is a Raven Ridge. The graphics unit would be based on the Vega architecture, Vega3 with three active CUs and thus 3×64=192 shader processors, we assume.

The notification of GE in interesting though, G standards for Graphics E, however, is a nomenclature that has never been used, it might be the E for Energy as in a more power friendly model Athlon APU
