Besides announcing the new Tizen 4 operating system, Samsung also used the annual Tizen Developer Conference to announce its new, lightweight IoT chipset called ARTIK 053. The new module will hopefully help Samsung to boost its Tizen IoT efforts, which provides “high-performance and hardened security for next-generation products like connected home appliances, building products, health care devices, and industrial automation.”
The all-new ARTIK 053 comes with an integrated real-time processing using Tizen RT for the first time. It packs 320 MHz ARM Cortex R4 core with 1.4 MB of RAM and 8 MB Flash storage, complete with a pre-certified Wi-Fi radio.
