Meizu will be officially unveiling the M5 at a media event on October 31. Ahead of the announcement, the Meizu M5 has received certification from China’s TENAA, clearing it for sale in the country. The TENAA listing also gives us a good look at the handset’s design and reveals almost all of its key specifications.

The smartphone will feature a slightly larger display than its predecessors, measuring 5.2-inches diagonally. However, the resolution is going to remain unchanged at 720 x 1280. Under the hood, Meizu M5 will be powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is actually the same chip present inside the Meizu M3. While the display resolution and the chipset aren’t very impressive, the M5 will surprisingly be offered with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Buyers will also be able to choose from variants with 2GB or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory. All variants will include a microSD card slot as well, which means users will be able to expand the storage further by up to 128GB.

In the camera department, the Meizu M5 will not be very different from its predecessor. There will be a 13MP resolution primary shooter at the back and a 5MP selfie snapper on the front. Battery life on the other hand is going to be slightly better, thanks to a larger 3000mAh capacity unit inside. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 147.3 x 72.8 x 8.2mm and weighs 139 grams.
