Many smartphone companies have already or are preparing to post their Q2 earnings. Samsung has yet to release its full Q2 2017 financial report, which will be a record-breaking and Xiaomi is another company with great Q2 earnings. The same can’t be said for LG, as the company misses profit expectations due to money-losing mobile division.
While analysts were expecting to see a profit of 755 billion won ($654 million) and 15.1 trillion won ($13.1 billion) in revenue, the company only generated 664 billion won ($574.49 million) in profit and 14.6 trillion won ($12.6 billion) in revenue. This is 14 and 3.9% higher than the first quarter, but some analysts also believe that the loss of the mobile division in the second quarter was well over 100 billion won ($87 million).
