Kronaby’s new connected watches offer 2-year battery life

223

While the smartwatch market is getting more populated with new models, manufacturers are yet to come out with wearables with truly stellar battery life. Swedish startup Anima is aiming to change that with its new line of connected watches under Kronaby name. The watches run on a regular coin cell watch battery, which is claimed to last up to two years.

The company’s lineup includes a total of four connected watches, all of which can be paired with your smartphone or tablet. While they may not be true smartwatches, they do come with features such as filtered notifications, smart shortcuts called “Pushers”, vibrating alarms, built-in camera remote, Find Phone, music control, geotagging, and more. An interesting feature called “Walk Me Home” allows one of your loved one to receive a signal when you push a button on the watch, letting them respond and follow your every step. You can also reject a call with a single tap on the watch.

All the four watches – Apex, Carat, Nord, and Sekel feature a classic design, with a choice of several bands and dials. Compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems, the entire collection is now available for pre-order in the EU. Anima will begin shipping the watches starting March 31st. Prices start from €345 and go up to €595 for the most expensive model. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t announced any plans of making these connected watches available in markets outside the EU.
