Huawei held a conference on November 14 and announced three new smartphones in face of the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design. Though the Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design are great handsets, the main player in the high-end market remains the Huawei Mate 9. It’s the main continuation of the Mate series, and the best features have been added to it.

As a reminder, the Huawei Mate 9 sports a 5.9-inch IPS LCD screen at a resolution of Full HD and pixel density of 373PPI, a Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa-core CPU though it’s said to come with Kirin 970, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM, an 8MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording capability, a 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology, USB Type-C, Android 7.0 Nougat, dual-band WiFi, and many more that you even haven’t heard about. But the selling point of this amazing device is the dual camera with 20MP + 12MP lens featuring f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 2x zoom, Leica optics, phase detection & laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and so on and so on. At last, this is a dual curved smartphone. Thus the manufacturer has tried to bring all the best features to it. Seems it succeeded.

Well, as of now we have some good for Huawei fans. The Mate 9 has got a new color – obsidian black. As you remember, there were many color options you can choose from including champagne gold, mocha gold, ceramic white, silver moonlight, and the sky gray. So by adding a black color option to this range Huawei tries to give the phone a business look. I have to repeat – it succeeded. Seems anything done by the company will have a success.

The Huawei Mate 9 Black will be available in the market on December 25. It will be priced identical to other color options:

• 4GB + 64GB version 3899 yuan ($561)
• 6GB + 128GB version 4499 yuan ($647).
