HTC today announced the Bolt, a smartphone that will be sold exclusively by Sprint in the US. The smartphone features a design similar to the company’s flagship HTC 10, but adds IP57 dust and water resistance.

The Bolt comes with a 5.5-inch Super LCD 3 display offering 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the infamous Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC, the same chipset found inside HTC’s 2015 flagship the One M9. The chipset has been paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded with a microSD card.

At the back is a 16MP primary shooter with an f/2.0 aperture lens, optical image stabilization, PDAF, and support for 4K video capture at 30 frames per second. For selfies, the Bolt comes with an 8MP snapper on the front, supporting Auto HDR mode.

HTC Bolt is the company’s first smartphone to not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Similar to a few other devices such as the Moto Z and the latest LeEco smartphones, Bolt uses the USB Type-C port for audio output. The smartphone will be bundled with a pair of BoomSound Adaptive Audio earphones which can be plugged in directly to the USB Type-C port.

The Bolt supports Sprint’s 3x20MHz carrier aggregation, supporting higher LTE download speeds than any other smartphone on the carrier’s network. In fact, Sprint claims its LTE Plus network is faster than any other carrier in the US currently.

In terms of battery life, the Bolt is claimed to deliver up to a day or more use on a single charge. There is a 3200mAh capacity unit inside, which supports Quick Charge 2.0. The fingerprint scanner is embedded inside the home button, claimed to be able to unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds. On the software side, Bolt runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with HTC Sense UI on top.
