Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee could soon launch yet another new entry-level Android smartphone. A new device listed as the F5L has been certified by TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications authority. The F5L is expected to be the “lite” version of the Gionee F5 and is likely to be marketed as the Gionee F5 Lite when it goes on sale.
The Gionee F5L will feature a 5.3-inch display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution, which means the display will have a pixel density of 277 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the F5L is going to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The exact SoC hasn’t been listed by TENAA though, so we will need to wait for more leaks to find that out. The octa-core SoC will be paired with 4GB of RAM, which is quite impressive. In terms of storage, the smartphone will ship with 32GB of internal memory, which will be further expandable by up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The main USP of the Gionee F5L will be the large 4000mAh capacity battery inside. While exact numbers will only be revealed once reviews start to pour in, we do expect the handset to offer impressive battery stamina. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 150 x 74.5 x 7.7mm and weighs in at 162 grams. As for software, the handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. According to the TENAA listing, the Gionee F5L will be available in two color options – White and Gold.
