Garmin has just announced that it has launched the company’s first dive computer in a watch-style design that also offers GPS navigation with rich color mapping. Called Garmin Descent MK1, the feature-packed smartwatch is designed for recreational, technical and free divers.
The watch allows divers to plan their underwater adventure by using GPS waypoints to automatically mark dive entry and exit points. Aside GPS, the watch also records depth, dive time, temperature, NDL/TTS, ascent/descent rates, gas mix, PO2, N2 loading, decompression/safety stop information, and time-of-day.
The watch starts at $999 and very much resembles the company’s Fenix 5x.
