Acer launches AHVA Gaming Monitors With Eye-Tracking

226

Three of them actually. The 27-inch Predator Z271T, 24.5-inch Predator XB251HQT, and 27-inch Predator XB271HUT. All three models have Tobii eye-tracking and Nvidia G-Sync support.

The bid daddy model is the Predator Z271T, a curved 27-inch 144hz display with 1920×1080 resolution. This seems to be a new model revision of the recently released Predator Z271 and should have a VA panel with a response time of 4ms reports bestcomputermonitor.com:

The Predator XB251HQT is a 24.5-inch panel with a 240hz refresh rate for hardcore competitive gamers. Of the three, this model is the most likely to feature an all-new panel inside. There are only a handful of 240hz monitors on the market right now, and the Predator XB251HQT will be Acer’s first.

The Predator XB271HUT is a 27-inch model with 2560×1440 resolution and 165hz refresh rate for the more graphically-inclined. This model looks like a new variant of the XB271HU, which featured an IPS panel with 4ms response time. The refresh rate of the XB271HU was 144hz though, so this panel is most likely factory overclocked.

As we said, each of these monitors support Tobii eye-tracking technology. Eye-tracking tech has been around for a little while now, and Tobii has earned its place as a leader in the eye-tracking market. That said, Tobii has only recently started adapting their tech for games. Support has shown up in a few recent games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided andTom Clancy’s The Division, allowing some ingame actions to be performed with simple eye movements.

Acer hasn’t released official specs or pricing for these models yet, though they appear on Acer’s IFA 2016 website. The Predator Z271T will launch in October, and the Predator XB271HUT  will launch in December. The release date for the 240hz Predator XB251HQT hasn’t been announced.
