Decent headphones for the price, January 17, 2018

These headphones are decent. They aren’t the best, but they definitely aren’t the worst. I’ll start with the sound. These headphones sound very decent, if not a little muffled. The bass is good and there, I wouldn’t mind just a little bit more though. The highs aren’t tinny and obnoxious, which is always nice. The sound is generally clear, but at times seems muffled. This could be due to fit, but I’ll talk about that down further. Overall sound 7.5/10, not bad at all for the price.
My biggest complaint is the fit. I don’t love the way the buds fit in my ear, but I don’t know exactly why. They don’t fall out and they block quite a bit of outside noise, which are both very important things in headphones for me. Fit is 5/10, for me at least.
I love the look. The wood adds a nice accent and the orange and gray looks nice. Aesthetics are 9/10.
I generally avoid headphones with the built-in volume changer thing, simply because I’ve had issues in the past with the wires becoming disconnected in that area, which ruins the headphones for me. These seems fairly well built, so hopefully that won’t be an issue, but I’ll update later after I use them more. I also really like that the aux jack is offset at about a 45 degree angle. This seems to help the six jack from being pulled out of the port. Build (for now) is 9/10.

Overall I give these headphones an 8/10. I’ll update my review after several months of regular wear.

I bought these hoping for a good alternative to apple original earpods seeking a “softer” feel in my ears. As Apple earbuds are made of sturdy plastic it hurts my ears after few hours of using. Unfortunately, despite many good reviews, I am very disappointed in this product – while the design may block an outside noise and give great sound quality, it gives a terrible “bumping” noise from cables coming into my ears. Any slightest clothing rubbing against the cable will result in amplified “bumps” into my ears. It is impossible to go for a walk (I can feel vibration from my clothes and even me making steps. Forget about running with these or wearing a hoodie or hat that would touch either cable or earphones directly…For those who listen to loud music, this may not be a problem, but for phone calls, audiobooks, etc., it gives very uncomfortable feeling. I realize that design was to increase sound quality, but if only place I can wear these are at home on my coach when not moving, I as well can use other much higher sound quality products (e.g. over the head headsets).

Got these as part of my wife’s Valentine’s Day gifts. The ear buds she used prior were just…like…bought at Target or over-priced Best Buy stuff which by-and-large are the same thing. She’d complain that the sound was “tinny” … You know, the usual stuff.

Well, I went out on the net and started fishing around and found these on more than one list as being best for the buck. Still, I was leary even as I read the reviews here on Amazon. You have to be able to sift through the reviewers who pan everything and those who give 5 stars because the packaging was intact.

Understand I am nobody’s audiophile. Used to be…more important things to worry about as we age. Anyway, I took a kick at the cat and ordered these solely because of the wood earpieces. They showed up and I tested them on my phone…with some Head East, Deep Purple, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, George Strait and The Moody Blues. TWO WORDS: Truly Impressed!

Now, I’m not the real benchmark. My kid seems to have more money than God and owns a set of those $150 ‘beats’ that it seems all iPhone owners HAVE to have. Without telling him I paid $25 for this set, I had him try them out. His exact words were: “For once you didn’t cheap out, Old Man”. After my initial inclination to backhand the young turd passed… I made him elaborate on what be thought. Solid base while not sacrificing mid and high range … He said be too loved the wood and the overall sound. Then I told him they cost $25.

Me? I prefer full head phones … But these are really good buds. I’m getting a pair for myself. That’s my review … No specs or superlatives. Just a good product.
