Great idea, poor execution,
Sadly, Delphin has changed my mind about this company. This is not a good device.
Here are the problems that I have with the new Delphin:
1. Bluetooth connectivity with their bluetooth headphones is very bad. The headphones connection keeps getting cut out continuously. Disconnecting and reconnecting does not fix it. Forgetting it and adding as a new device does not fix it. I think the headphones is just a very bad product and it feels very bulky and cheap and rubbery.
2. Battery life is very poor. At full charge I only managed to get an hour and half before completely dying. It seems to be eating up about 8-9% for each 3-4 minute song. It does charge pretty fast though.
3. Delphin does not connect to my PC or my macbook. On my PC, it keeps chiming in saying that a new USB device has been detected but it disconnects a second later and chimes back out. I’ve been trying to wirelessly download onto Delphin but the touch screen is very very tiny so it is very very frustrating. This also means that you can’t charge the device via your USB drive and must be charged by directly plugging it into the wall (not included).
4. Delphin is very bulky and has difficulty staying clipped on. The unit is significantly bigger and heavier compared to the shuffle and it should because its got wireless/bluetooth technology with touch screen while the shuffle was first released back in 2010. But because it is bigger and heavier, it does not stay clipped onto your goggle straps. This is especially challenging if you’re using Swedish goggles. As soon as you start your sprint set, the Delphin flips off and floats away. Forget about clipping it onto your suit because that’s way too far for fragile bluetooth connection to stay on.
5. Control is very cumbersome. There are hard buttons at the top that control volume and forward/back track. One button does both volume up and next track depending on how you press the button. It NEVER does what you want it to. When trying to increase the volume, it skips to next track. When you try to skip to next track, it increases the volume. Forget about using touch screen instead because the device is clipped to the back of your skull (plus your hands are wet so touch screen is very hard to use, especially on a small screen).
6. Price point is very high for what it is. Compared to other devices that have similar functionality, it is very expensive. It is the only one of its kind so I guess price is whatever they call it.
Also, be aware that this is not returnable via Amazon. Many of us Prime members are used to being able to make returns with ease with packaging and labels provided. This is not the case with Delphin as Amazon does not take returns on these. So make sure you’re ok with above before you buy it!
I’ve contacted the customer service to remedy these issues – bluetooth and USB connection issues. Hopefully these issues are worked out and my experience with Delphin improves.

Great Listening Device, Good Lap Counter,
As a lap counter, it is a 1 star. I have spoke with the help desk numerous times. They tell me it has to be placed perfectly in the back of my head to be accurate. It is so picky, “center” can. It be achieved poolside and must be perfectly positioned in the locker room with a mirror. At best, it now accurately counts my laps 50% of the time. Therefore making it unreliable. Usually just stops counting for about 500 yards and then restarts at some point. The Delphin would be SO SO great if it only worked consistently. Still hoping they will update it and fix the reliability and finickines.
Update: Customer service is excellent. Latest update made the accuracy of the lap counter alot better! At the end of a 3000yd swim, I was only off by 100-200 yds. I really like that it tracks no matter what kind of drills that I do.

Difficult to use, great battery life, way over priced, great support.,
Don’t use the built in music player, it sucks. Go on the Amazon App store and get Dark Music.
Pros:
Excellent battery life. By my estimates will get probably 8 hours per charge.
Decent storage
Very light, don’t even feel it on
Very good sound quality when I use the equalizer in Dark Music player
Headphones sound good
Ear Buds that came on the unit are excellent, do not leak, at all
A lot of options since it is running android
Decent display (but read the con)
Cons:
Teeny Tiny display. Almost impossible to use with fingers for entering in data.
Extremely over priced for a device like this. Should sell for under 100, easy.
Built in music app is worthless, doesn’t even shuffle.
Unknown product quality, it is too new to judge.
Summary:
Do I like this product, yes. I just wish some competition would pop up so that prices would get adjusted properly. This is crazy, insane high. But what are we to do?
