Chinese company ZTE is now going to launch an Android Wear smartwatch and it seems almost absolutely certain that ZTE will join the Android Wear family this year.

According to Android Soul. a device sporting the model name ZW10 has been spotted. This device is reportedly been awarded a Bluetooth SIG certificate. In the description, it appears that this certificate points to the fact that the smartwatch will support 3G connectivity.

At the start of the year, ZTE confirmed it was working on the first Android Wear smartwatch the company will be launching later in 2017. It further hinted that it would work as a standalone smartwatch, which would be armed with 3G support.

It appears that the ZTE smartwatch will have a better than average battery life, as Lixin Cheng, ZTE USA’s CEO. hints that the device will last longer than the average Android Wear device, but at the same time, still sport a slim design.

ZTE will most likely be releasing an Android Wear watch for the US and Europe and but keep the OS to TOS+ in its native country, China.

2017 appears to be an Android Wear year, with Android Wear 2.0 coming up that is going to be a major overhaul of the Android system. The 2 new Android Wear smartwatches by LG will also be making a big spectacle that will probably be landing on the 9th of Feb. Furthermore, New Balance has a confirmation that a Swarovski Android Wear smartwatch is happening too.

So we can expect 2017 to be shaping up to be a big year for the platform.
