The marketing director of ZTE, Lu Qian Hao, teased by releasing an image of what could be a future ZTE phone on his Weibo account. Usually, we don’t expect for company executives to feed us with leaks, but ZTE seems to be having a marketing executive that truly knows how marketing should be done.
A render showing surface of a mobile phone featuring a curved design was shared by ZTE’s executive on the night of New Year where he gave the message of 2017 being a “borderless” year for the company. The message and the render confirm that a ZTE phone with a curved screen is already in the making and it may launch before we expect it to do so.
Speculations about ZTE’s plans on developing smartphones with curved screens have circulated since 2015 and by far the result every device that was suspected of bearing such feature was negative. The render doesn’t unveil much about the alleged phone, all it can be seen is a curved display and ZTE branding on it.
It doesn’t seem that ZTE will be releasing this phone anytime soon, at least not before summer. Despite that, the intention of ZTE’s official was to create awareness about the company and let ZTE fans know that the company will never stop surprising them. Seen from a marketing perspective, the leaked render is going places in mainland China, it was the technology trend of the day and everyone is talking about it.
The leaked render of alleged ZTE phone with a curved screen was spotted first by Gadget Detected. Despite the fact that the image was shared three days ago on a public Chinese social media it needed some time to go viral.
