Google Pixel 2 XL smartphone was recently updated with the “pinch-to-zoom” gesture, which cropped 16:9 video to fit the 18:9 display. Since Pixel 2 XL isn’t the only smartphone with 18:9 or 18.5:9 display, Google is now rolling out the same feature to a few other devices.
While this may crop some of the video being watched, many users actually prefer that instead of leaving out black bars. This feature is available with the latest version of the app – version 12.44, so if you haven’t update yet and have such handset, do it now.
