YouTube has addressed a problem with its Restricted Mode that was filtering out an unnecessary portion of LGBT content. The site was criticized recently for the filtering even though Restricted Mode is only utilized by a small portion of YouTube users.
Restricted Mode is supposed to clear the site of adult-only content, yet it was getting rid of LGBT videos even when they weren’t clearly problematic.
When the issue was found, a lot of people responded with cries of censorship and the hashtag #YouTubeIsOver was used by many. So far, there’s no indication YouTube is falling apart.
