We recently reported that Microsoft is going to be bringing its full Office suite of apps to the Windows Store. Full-fledged Office apps on the Windows Store will play a crucial part in the company’s upcoming version of Windows called Windows 10 Cloud. Microsoft is expected to introduce Windows 10 Cloud on May 2nd — and ahead of the official release, some of the Office apps have already appeared on the Windows Store.

But that’s not really news — full-fledged Office apps were spotted on the Windows Store nearly a year ago, even though they weren’t actually usable. Recently, however, some new app listings with codenames for the Office apps have started showing up in the Windows Store. What’s more interesting, however, is the fact that you will soon be able to purchase Office 365 subscriptions from the Windows Store. As you can see in the screenshot above, Microsoft has published a placeholder app listing called “Lunch” that costs $9.99 per month — which is exactly the same price as Office 365 Home. The app listing is actually a bundle which includes the Office apps such as Word (Sandwich), Excel (Soup) and some other unknown apps.

In addition to providing the monthly subscription option, Microsoft will likely offer all the other subscription options for Office 365. For instance, there’s a listing that includes options for a yearly subscription and a monthly subscription that renew automatically. Obviously, the $1 price is just a placeholder — so don’t get too excited.

Microsoft will obviously make all the upcoming things official at its May 2nd event. We’ll be covering the event live from New York City, so stay tuned to MSPU for the latest on Windows 10 Cloud, as well as Office apps on the Windows Store.
