Xiaomi VR TV Coming On September 27?

The fact Xiaomi will uncover more than one products carrying S letter in the name is no secret anymore. But the net doesn’t calm down and it’s buzzing about different devices to be shown at the conference held on September 27. The Xiaomi Mi 5S and 5S Plus will be there, undoubtedly. But whether there will be the Xiaomi Small or the much rumored Xiaomi Mi TV 3S still remains a big question. Today an interesting news leaked – Chuan Wang, director for Internet TV related products at Xiaomi said some people are talking about a new Xiaomi VR TV to be announced at the conference. And though Chuan Wang didn’t claim this was true, I guess he even didn’t annul it completely.

Xiaomi is doing its best to conquer more markets. It has already launched a cleaner, a smartwatch (I don’t know why, but I still think it’s a Xiaomi product), a VR headset (though it’s not a standalone device), a micro-single camera and many more. So if this manufacturer is the first to come in with a VR TV, I guess no one will be surprised. But the Chinese VR industry still fails and there are serious challenges this company should stand against.

On the other hand, virtual reality is entering into our lives gradually, and want it or not it seems the future. I remember when 3D technology has been announced first people were thinking in this way. But seems VR is succeeding where 3D TV failed. Every day more and more companies are switching to virtual reality – Hulu and HuffPost RYOT have announced the first VR comedy series and World News Show, MyVR social virtual reality platform should debut in the next month, Fox Sports brought virtual reality to live college football and so on. Obviously, VR TV still needs much work to be done, but it is closed than you think.

Honestly, I don’t think Xiaomi is ready to announce such a revolutionary product in a few days, but I am sure we can hear something like that in coming years. But if this company has been able to make the first under glass fingerprint scanner smartphone in the world, why it come in with a Xiaomi VR TV as well?
