At an event in India, Xiaomi has unveiled a new smartphone lineup called Redmi Y that currently consists of two devices. Called Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite, the phones come in Gold and Dark Gray colors and will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, Mi.com as well as Mi Home and offline stores starting from November 8. The Redmi Y1 starts at $140 and Redmi Y1 Lite costs $110.
Both phones are very similar, and come with a brushed metal-like finish on the back with aluminium alloy frame. The base model also has a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds, a dedicated dual SIM and a microSD expansion slot.
