This year, Xiaomi smartphones have not done badly, however, the Chinese manufacturing giant is planning a larger growth. In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi shipped 23.16 million units of smartphones, a 70% increase which is the new record for its quarterly mobile phone shipments.

In order to grow further, the company is strengthening its foreign market and it also plans to create a wide range of offline network channel. In recent times, the company has opened 36 Mi Stores in China in two installments as part of its goal to have 200 offline network channels in its hometown.

Recently, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun participated in the Indonesian third Xiaomi authorized shop opening ceremony. He visited the retail store in Malang, Indonesia, and talked with the shop owner. Lei Jun said that Indonesia is still in the early stages of the smartphone market, and noted that smartphone usage is not widespread in Indonesia. Xiaomi’s target is to is to accelerate the popularity its brands in the country. To do this,  Lei Jun stated that  Xiaomi Mi 5X and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A  will be introduced to the Indonesian market but he did not say the exact time that this will happen.

Presently, Xiaomi Mi A1 is available in India. This smartphone is a complete replica of Xiaomi Mi 5X only that this smartphone targets the Indian market. It comes with the tag “created by Xiaomi, powered by Google.” It runs on Android OS, not Xiaomi’s own MIUI layer, and is part of Google’s Android One program. We do not know if the Indonesian version will run a similar software.
