Xiaomi this time decided to omit a feature that is basic for any mobile device, it is the infrared sensor, a small addition that the company has been including throughout its years, but in the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A have taken the determination to exclude this feature, we do not know the reason for the action and if it will continue to do so in the future.

This action has not affected the performance of Redmi 6 or Redmi 6A, only that it becomes a disadvantage compared to other Smartphones of the Chinese brand.

What is the purpose of the infrared sensor in the Smartphones?

Currently, it is very rare that the devices don’t have this sensor, as is the case of the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, but this feature allows us to connect the smartphone wirelessly to a compatible laptop to manage contact information of its Smartphone.

The infrared is a method to communicate at close range, which is necessary to place the devices side by side at a minimum distance. Once the connection between the devices is established they should not move out of the mutual line of sight or the exchange of information will be interrupted.

This function is not only limited to the transfer of information. The integration of this sensor in the Smartphones allows them to control a large number of intelligent devices, thus fulfilling the function of a remote control for television sets of the latest generation. multimedia or air conditioners.
