The original Xiaomi Redmi Pro was launched about a year ago on July 27, 2016. When it was out many were thinking Xiaomi had changed its price policy. They thought in this way because the standard version was priced at 1499 yuan ($220) and the exclusive variant was available at 1999 yuan ($294). Thus the latter was at the same price as the Xiaomi Mi 5, a legend phone taken Xiaomi to the heights. But the Redmi Pro was actually worthy to be expensive. It came with a list of decent features. So when the net started buzzing about the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2, real Mi fans understood this phone should be packed with many innovative features. Otherwise, it will fail. Fortunately, seems the forthcoming model won’t stay in the shadow of its ancestor.
We know the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is said to come this month. I guess it will be the same date, July 27. According to leaks, this phone will sport a 6-inch Full HD screen with no bezels. Though the spotted photo doesn’t allow us to assess whether this device will have bezels or not, we can say it’s at 6 inches and it’s an IPS LCD display.
Apart of this, we have heard the phone will sport a 12+5MP rear camera. The larger sensor comes with a model number of IMX362 and at a pixel size of 1.4 microns. So it’s expected to see a great camera performance on this device. The Redmi Pro 2 will also feature a 16MP camera with a model number of Samsung S5K3P8 and pixel size of 1.0 microns as well as f/1.9 aperture. At last, this device is said to be equipped with a Snapdragon 660 chip and 3GB of RAM.
All the aforementioned features, let us put it in the category of mid-range smartphones. But seems this mid-ranger will cost no less than 2299 yuan ($338). Thus it will be very close to the Mi 6 (2499 yuan ($363)) in terms of pricing.
