We have been waiting for today crossing fingers because Xiaomi has promised it will release the next pair of great smartphones. The promised devices are not from a high-end category. Vice versa, they belong to the entry-level category. But what’s amazing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A smartphones are priced incredibly low. All models will become available for purchase starting August 22. So it’s the right time to get acquainted with their final features.
This device comes with a symmetrical design emphasizing the minimalist and pure style. Though it sports a 5.5-inch screen, the handset weighs only 150 grams. Many may think this is a plastic-covered phone that’s why it’s so light. But the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A comes with a metal housing passed a complex metal processing technology. The antenna ribbons are placed on the upper and lower parts of the back panel proving the symmetrical look of this smartphone.
As we know, it comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen (flat) protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass. The next interesting features are the main camera with a 13MP lens that supports PDAF. A built-in 3080mAh lithium battery will provide a long life for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A. The latter is one of those rare devices that come with a 2+1 card slot design. This means you don’t have to scarify the second card slot to expand the phone’s memory. I guess you will need this feature because it sports a 32GB/16GB storage only. So it can be expanded up to 128GB.
Only too little people know these phones come with a built-in infrared turning the phone into a remote control whenever you want.
The higher version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A doesn’t differ from its sibling too much. However, there are a few features wholly changed in this version. First, this model sports a 16MP front camera ((F2.0 / 76.4 wide angle)) with an independent soft light for better selfies. It is only at 5MP in the lowest model. The soft light illuminates the face in low-light conditions. Thanks to it and a special beautification app this camera takes great photos with enhanced facial features such as a brighter skin color as well as eye colors.
In comparison to the standard version that is equipped with a Snapdragon 425 chip and a 2/3GB of RAM, this one sports a Snapdragon 435 SoC paired with a 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The back and front panels are covered with a 2.5D arc glass, and there is a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back as well.
There are three color options to choose from – gray, champagne gold, and rose gold.
They run on MIUI8 based on Android 6.0, but the phone will get its bunch of OTA update on August 25. It will change the software version to MIUI9 based on Android 7.1.
