When Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 Edge with curved edges many have been thinking this is the future. Moreover, many smartphone users were accusing Apple of not launching a similar iPhone. Though other manufacturers came in with such models such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the dual-curved screens didn’t become popular and trendy. As for now, we can say full-screens are trendier than the curved screens last year. The first phone went to the mass production was the Xiaomi Mi MIX. Once it was launched many Chinese manufacturers began designing their own models. The same is true for the newly released Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. But there are too many full-screen smartphones available for a lower price tag than their founding father. So the company has decided to launch a cheap full-screen phone named the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Yesterday two new Xiaomi models appeared on TENAA. Thus some information has been disclosed. This helped different sources to make renders for the upcoming model. We are introducing one of them.
Yesterday we wrote about the MET7, a Xiaomi phone with a full-screen. But there was another model codenamed the MEE7. Both models are going to be the different variants of the same phone, which is going to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
This device is said to sport a display with a screen ratio of 18:9. The corners are rounded for better ergonomics. The back uses a metal housing with a T-shaped groove. There are also a single-camera and a fingerprint sensor. The phone will have a thickness of 8.05mm and weight of 179.5 grams. At last, there are various color options (up to 9) to choose from – black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, and silver.
The rest of features have been disclosed as well, but we doubt they are true. Look, it’s said the Redmi Note 5 will come with a 5.99-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, 12MP rear and 5MP front shooters, a 4000mAh battery, dual-SIM cards supporting 4G, Android 7.1.2 out of the box, and 3 +32 GB (MEE7) or 4 +64 GB (MET7) memory storage expandable up to 128GB.
Though there is no info on pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is going to be the most cost-effective full-screen phone coming our way from a top brand. It should be priced around 1000 yuan ($151).
