Xiaomi has already launched all of its premium flagships, but we will see a few models before the end of this year as well. That’s not a secret Xiaomi is going to bring the new and trendy technology called full-screen to the mid-range and low-end market. The first models with such a technology will be the Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Though all three models are assumed to cost around or under 1000 yuan ($150), they will be a great addition to the existing phones in face of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A. Thus most likely, we will be able to take our hands on three Xiaomi models in coming two months. This is amazing, but today a supposed photo of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 has been leaked making a huge stir around it. Let’s figure out.
We knew those three phones will come with a screen with 18:9 screen ratio. But one of them will sport a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720p, while the rest two models will be packed with 5.99-inch screens providing 2160 × 1080 pixel resolution. As you can guess, the former one is considered to be the Xiaomi Redmi 5, which will also feature a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. Its larger variant, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is said to sport a 5.99-inch screen with a better resolution and 4+64GB memory option. They should be equipped with a MediaTek P25 chip. The lower variant should be priced around 899 yuan ($136), while the higher model is set to be available for 1099 yuan ($165). Well, as for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, this model should be packed with a Snapdragon 636 chip paired with a 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and a dual-camera on the back. The starting price tag should be set at 1599 yuan ($241).
All these news sound quite attractive. Probably, many people are already thinking about a full-screen phone carrying a top brand and available for a song. But the photo spotted on the net cause too many questions. Of course, we have no confirmation whether this is the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5 or not, but when comparing with the renders and TENAA photos shown earlier, they look quite identical. So if this is the white variant of the forthcoming model, we’d like to take a glance at a darker color option, say at the black one. By the way, the 5.99-inch versions look more amazing.
