It’s been a while since the launch of the latest mid-range device of Xiaomi. Still, the Smartphone was only purchasable in China. Yes, “it was” because on January 25 the arrival of the latest Xiaomi devices to the Taiwanese market was confirmed, and the chosen date for this was January 30. Today the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are already on sale, and in this way, the trip of these terminals begins through markets outside of China.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus begin their tour
The first device in the Redmi range to have a full-body screen-ratio finally leaves China. The terminal dazzles with its screen of 5.7″ HD+ (5.99″ FHD+ for the Plus version), a Snapdragon 450 and a 3300mAh battery (4000mAh in the Plus version). If you want to know more about the Xiaomi Redmi 5, we cordially invite you to go through our review, and if you are also looking for a comparison of its capabilities, we have put it to the test against the Meizu M6S and the 360 N6 Lite.
Starting at 12 noon on January 30, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and its improved version, the Redmi 5 Plus, will be on sale. In the nation, the device will be sold in its standard version with 3GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM (we must remember there is a version with less memory, but this one will not be sold) for a price of NT $ 3,999 (approximately ¥ 870 / $ 138), while its Premium variant will have 4GB of RAM + 64GB of ROM, so its price increases to NT $ 5,999 (approximately ¥ 1305 / $ 207).
It is good to point out that on January 30 they will only be purchasable through the official Mi Website, the Mi Home stores, and the PCHome stores. As of February 1, this will change, as the Taiwanese carriers Far East, Taiwan Star and Chungwa Telecom will have the Xiaomi Redmi 5. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will remain exclusive from Far Eastern.
