Xiaomi is going to launch the Redmi Note 5A on Monday (August 21) in an online conference which would be hosted by the company’s president Lin Bin. The Redmi Note 5A literally has the same design as the Redmi 4A and so, that seems to have affected the price of the Redmi 4A on e-commerce platforms. Notably, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is now being sold on LightInTheBox for $88.99 which is a reasonable cut from the previous price hovering around $100 and even higher.
We can’t explain why the price cut because the Redmi 4A still commands a large sales volume due to its sub-$100 price tag but it is likely that the price is being cut to clear up stock awaiting the arrival of the Redmi Note 5A on store shelves.
As a reminder, the Redmi 4A sports an all-metal body and a 5-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720p). The device is powered by a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz which is supplemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. At the back, the phone features a 13MP sensor with PDAF and man, the camera is sharp! Even the 5MP shooter at the front will amaze you with its output. It packs a capable 3,120mAh battery under its hood while the interface is provided by the latest MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Other features include dual-SIM slots one micro and nano SIM slot, dual Standby support, 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and lots more.
With this caliber of specs, the Redmi 4A is supposed to be way more expensive than the price of $88.99. Even at that, the device launched clutching a price of around $89 and that is what LightInTheBox is selling it now which is unusual. Do note that it is only the Blushing Pink and Gold colour variants that are available. We can’t say how long this price cut will last but it’d be a good idea to hurry down to LightInTheBox to place your orders.
