Xiaomi Redmi 4 going official on November 4, reveals tease…

Xiaomi has released an official teaser for its upcoming Redmi 4, confirming its announcement date. The smartphone will be made official at an event on November 4th in China. Along with the Redmi 4, Xiaomi is could also announce the Redmi 4A, with slightly lower specs compared to the regular Redmi 4.

According to the info published by China’s TENAA, the Redmi 4 is going to feature 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution and is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz. At launch, it appears there will only be one variant on offer, packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. For further expansion, a microSD card slot will be available as well. The smartphone will also feature a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash, 5MP selfie camera, dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, and a large 4000mAh capacity battery. On the software front, the Redmi 4 is expected to run on MIUI 8, based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The more affordable Redmi 4A is expected to feature a 5-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, and a 3030mAh capacity battery. Thanks to its less impressive spec-sheet, the Redmi 4A will reportedly cost 690 Yuan, which converts to S$141. The regular Redmi 4 on the other hand is expected to be priced at 1299 Yuan (S$266).
