Xiaomi has prepared many devices to launch in the near future. We have waited for those handsets for a long a time. Our waiting have already turned into sufferings, as the leaked info show this manufacturer has decided to bring the situation under its control and fight against big boys. I mean its main competitors in face of Meizu, Bluboo and others have already announced about upcoming high-end smartphones with decent features, so Xiaomi has to do its best to stay afloat. In terms of sales the manufacturer has to open the way for its upcoming flagships, thus it has to empty the stores from remaining ‘old’ handsets. Seems everything is just like that, as this morning mi.com removed the Xiaomi Mi Note from the selling list leaving only the Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi 5.
Both handsets, the Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi 5 have provided great sales for the manufacturer thanks to many respectable features and affordable price tags. As you should know, the Xiaomi Mi Max is available for only $179, while the Mi 5is priced at about $375. These handsets are packed with the best features of that time when they were launched and they made a huge buzz around them in the net. So it’s quite clear why they are priced so. I even remember the Mi 5 has been compared with the Samsung Galaxy S7. This simply means the Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the best alternatives to Samsung’s flagship.
However, what can mean this changes on mi.com. As we can suppose the manufacturer is preparing the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi Note 2. Two awaited smartphones with attractive features and design. Both handsets are rumored to get Qualcomm 821 chipset. The Mi 5S is said to sport a pressure sensitive display, while the Mi Note 2 should come equipped with a dual curved display. They should be at 1080P resolution, but no one will be surprised to see 2K resolution. The Xiaomi Mi 5S is also rumored to come with a dual camera module, but we have no info on the camera of the Mi Note 2, unfortunately.
As for the pricing, the current models left on the site, the Mi Max and Mi 5 are priced at 1499 yuan ($225) and 1799 yaun ($270), respectively. But the supposed handsets, the Mi Note 2 and Mi 5S should come at 2,999 yuan ($449) and 2,499 yuan ($370) like its predecessor. I guess when the last two phones are available for purchase, the manufacturer will run some campaigns to push the Mi Max’s and Mi 5’s sells.
