And who has been sharing and passing around these pictures? I, of course, your review and unboxing master. Whether it will increase your expectancy and anticipation for the device, or it will finally ease you of the tension that has been building up in you since the TV was launched, I don’t know, but before I go on to show you the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch unboxing photos, here are the specifications of the device.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch has a 3840 * 2160 pixel resolution, what is commonly referred to in the tech world as a 4k display. It offers wide viewing angles up to 178 degrees, meaning you are fine as long as you’re not planning on watching the TV through its back 😀 . The 65-inch display has a 5000:1 contrast ratio and over 85% NTSC color gamut, the combination of which gives you one of the best picture quality and representation you can expect to find in a modern television set.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch uses a Amlogic T966 processor with four Cortex-A53 processing cores and an upper processing speed of 1.8GHz. This is paired with a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU with a speed of 750MHz to make sure the device never lags, as that could be a large form of embarrassment, especially when guests are around!.
For the processor to have enough space to carry out its functions to the maximum, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch is packed with 2GB of DDR3 dual-channel RAM and 8GB of internal memory which uses the eMMC 5.0 process. For connectivity purposes, the Mi Tv 3s is packed with a full suite of ports and terminals. Starting with the virtual, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac with speeds of 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy (LE) for wireless connections.
Moving to the physical, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch is fitted with three different HDMI 2.0a ports, AV, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and one separate port for Ethernet connection.
The Mi TV 3S 65-inch supports a wide range of video codecs listed as follows:
- H.265 4K @ 60 / 30 fps.
- H.265 1080P @ 60 fps.
- H.263 1080P @ 30 fps.
- MPEG1 / 2/4 DivX4 the VC-1 / WMV3 1080P @ 60 fps.
- REAL 8/9/10 1080P @ 30 fps.
Now let’s dwell on the software and hardware of the device. The Mi TV 3S 65-inch comes with the MIUI TV software which is based on the Android Operating System. It is not stated the version of Android the TV is built on, but it is very much likely Android 7.0 Nougat (maybe half of it) or 6.0 Marshmallow at least.
On the hardware side, there are two variants of the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch; the standard version and the Home Theatre version. The standard version comes with two 2.5-inch Woofers, and two dome tweeter to support the primary sound output of the TV. It also has advanced audio features like Dolby Virtual Surround Sound, DTS and Bass Boost.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch Home Theatre version has all the features and hardware of the standard version, and comes with two 5GHz Wireless satellite surround speakers, a wireless transceiver and a Subwoofer as addition. The combination of these three additional components makes the setup familiar to what you get with a full Home Theatre system, hence the name.

The accessories…
The mounting base…
From left to right: the power cord, Mi Port cable, and Infrared Remote Control.
Tools for the workman: screwdrivers and some screws to fit the mounting base to the TV.
This is how the setup should look like after the base has been fitted to the TV.
Now everything has been set up 🙂 .
From the back the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S 65-inch looks like a curved screen TV, but it’s actually a flat screen TV.
A closer look at the back of the TV.
Isn’t it too thin? I fear it might snap off!
Looking closer at it you’ll see that that’s impossible 😉 .
We took the pains to measure the thickness of the TV to confirm if the book specifications are correct. We were not able to prove Xiaomi wrong this time.
Here is the base of the TV when fully mounted. We can see the Mi logo proudly printed there.
The middle of this extension houses the controls which you can use instead of the remote control. Flanking it on both sides are the two auxiliary speakers.
Here is the full suite of ports.
Here is the extension turned upside down. You can see the spaces that have been created to act as cooling vents, because it’s expected to be very hot with that number of ports.
And finally, here’s the built-in 2.5-inch bass speaker.
