Though the Xiaomi Mi 5S has been included into the list of top Chinese smartphones, the real Mi fans are disappointed of this phone, because they know the Chinese Apple is able to provide better handsets. The Mi 5S has become a real headache for Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun and there is left only one chance to save the situation – the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Seems the latter will be packed with all the features we have been expected to see either on the Xiaomi Mi 5S or on the Mi 5S Plus. One of most anticipated features is the ceramic body that is said not to appear on any Xiaomi device due to capacity problems. I don’t know what has happened with this problem, but the Mi Note 2 will come in ceramic body for sure. The latest leak proves it.
The Xiaomi Mi Note has got a price cat and now it is available for only 800 yuan ($120). This means the newer version of this series will hit the market soon. Some rumors say the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be announced in October and some sources claim it will happen in mid-November. Regardless the launch date, we are sure we will be able to get our hands on this device before the end of 2016. But what’s more interesting are the design elements as well as hardware and software features of this device.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to come in attractive design and many color options. Actually, we used to see Xiaomi flagships in many colors, and this is not what we are waiting for. But what does mean attractive design? The same Xiaomi Mi 5S and its sibling come with stylish design and are made of metal housing, but this is not what we are waiting for, again. A few days ago a few photos leaked with Mi branding. This caused many netizens to think we are dealing with the Xiaomi Mi 6 prototype. Later it become known they were the photos of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Those photos confirmed the ‘savior’ will come in a ceramic body. Fortunately, this news has been confirmed a few hours ago. So we can say the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have a 3D ceramic body and will be launched at the end of November.
As I said, the lack of ceramic body on the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus was related with the capacity problems. But if the company is going to launch the Mi Note 2 with this housing, there can be several assumptions.
First, we think the manufacturer has foreseen the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will sell in respectable numbers. So in some sense, the problems related with capacity can be thought solved. On the other hand, if this info is true, the Mi Note 2 will priced at least at 3500 yuan, which means the company can benefit a lot.
Second, we have heard the Mi Note 2 can be renamed to the Xiaomi Mi Pro. But what if it the manufacturer will launch two versions – the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (Regular) with metal housing and the Xiaomi Mi Pro (Ceramic Body).
And the last, what if the company is not intended to make money but wants to save the current situation.
Anyway, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is rumored to come with astonishing features besides the ceramic body. Among them we can find a double-curved 2K display, a dual-camera with OIS, under glass fingerprint scanner, Android 7.0 and MIUI 8. So our recommendation ‘if Xiaomi Mi 5S is letting you down, wait for Mi Note 2 in October’ remains valid (only the date is changed). At the end, Lei Jun’s words as the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have surprise can easily refer to the ceramic body.
