It is becoming evident by the day that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 would make its debut in a grand style as the official specifications, features and price of the device has been unveiled on Mi community and stunning is the word. Quite amazingly, the Mi Note 2 has been revealed to feature an iris scanner just like the Galaxy Note 7 bringing back to mind earlier rumors that the device would be a perfect replacement for the botched Galaxy Note 7.
The device would be officially unveiled on October 25 in China and this would likely be sold internationally considering the revelation by a Xiaomi exec yesterday that there is a Global Edition of the Mi Note 2 with 37 supported frequency bands, including 4G LTE on US mobile carriers.
A look at the official specs reveals the device would sport a 5.7-inch LG Yingcun curved, flexible AMOLED display with a mammoth 2K resolution. The display is said to provider a high contrast pictures with better performance, wide color gamut, high color production and even with those power consumption is said to be minimal. The device is also revealed as sporting a Gorilla glass on top while the back is made from ceramic.
A 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 chipset would fire up the device’s core and the Mi Note 2 features a 4GB RAM version as well as a 6GB RAM high-end version. The internal storage also comes in two bits, one with 64GB and another with a massive 128GB likely to be attached to the 6GB RAM version.
Another spectacular aspect is the camera end. Indeed as rumored the device is listed as coming with a dual camera set-up comprising a 23MP Sony IMX318 main sensor at the rear along side a 12MP Sony IMX378 secondary sensor and up front there is an 8MP selfie camera. The rear camera lenses are protected with sapphire glass and the camera also has four-axis optical image stabilization technology.
The device comes in as the second Xiaomi smartphone with the underglass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor whose features we had alsready seen on the Mi 5S. There is also NFC technology on the Mi Note 2 supporting a host of payment services. In addition the device is also touted to sport a HiFi sound system. Apart from the iris scanner, there is also an Infra-red LED on the device which brings a security technology that ensures data encryption so your data stays safe even when the phone is stolen.
The major highlight of the device is the price which is of interest to many. Surprisingly, the device is not as expensive as being touted coming in with a 2799 Yuan ($415) for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while the high-end version with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage starts at 2999 Yuan ($445). Unbelievable isn’t it? But this looks pretty authentic, more so it is said to have come from the Mi Community.
