The Xiaomi Mi MIX sold out quickly during its first two flash sales. The first sale took all of 10 seconds to complete, while the second one lasted 30 seconds. The unique look of the phone, with the display making up as much as 91.3% of the front body, has everyone wanting one. And with the piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology, the Mi MIX sends vibrations through the glass so that a traditional speaker is not necessary. This means that Xiaomi didn’t have to put an opening in the display allowing a single piece of glass to cover so much of the front body.
The next flash sale for the Xiaomi Mi MIX will take place this coming Tuesday, November 29th, at 10am in China. Besides the 6.4-inch display, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 821 chipset carrying a quad-core 2.35GHz CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. One model features 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of native storage, while the other version carries 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A 16MP camera adorns the back of the handset while a 5MP selfie snapper can be found in front. A 4400mAh cell powers up the whole shebang.
While the standard edition of the phone is priced at the equivalent of $535 USD, for $43 more ($578 USD) you can buy the premium edition. This comes with a special leather case. Considering what could happen to your Mi MIX if you drop it, buying the model with the leather case seems like a good idea. The case itself won’t be sold separately until January 2017, so if you want the phone and the ability to protect it right now, you might want to spend the extra money.
