Xiaomi’s plans are not transparent like Meizu. So it’s difficult to predict how many new models will be launched this year. But this doesn’t mean we don’t know anything about the forthcoming devices. As for now, a new Xiaomi phone featuring a Snapdragon 660 chip has been rumored to come in May. It’s thought this device should be the successor to the original Xiaomi Mi MAX due to a 6.44-inch screen. Thus the manufacturer adheres to its principles and it will release the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 with the same but improved features like its predecessor.

The manufacturer is going to wow the world with its new and own-made Pinecone chip. But before it happens we may get our hands on half a dozen smartphones in face of the Xiaomi Mi 5C, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku version and so on. Seems the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 joins the list as well.

The phone is rumored to sport a 6.44-inch display like its predecessor, Snapdragon 660 chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM, and 5000mAh battery supporting Quick Charge. However, it’s said the company has abandoned the previous design and the newer model will look differently.

As for pricing, the Xioami Mi MAX 2 is said to come at 1999 yuan ($290). This is a price tag for the higher variant, while the regular model should cost around 1499 yuan ($218).

We have heard about Xiaomi’s plans referring to a Snapdragon 660-powered smartphone for a while. But all the features hint at the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2. Now we are confused which device these rumors concerns. There is also the third variant – may be the manufacturer has decided to pack at least two of its upcoming models with a Snapdragon 660 chip. Anything is possible. Who knows?
