Xiaomi Mi 6 will reportedly be offered in two versions

According to a new rumor out of China, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be available in two distinct variants. The two variants will differ not just in terms of memory, but in quite a few other areas as well.

The more affordable of the two variants will feature a 1080p Full HD display while the more expensive one is going to come with a Quad HD resolution display. In terms of memory, the base variant will include 4GB of RAM, paired with 32GB of onboard storage. The Quad HD model will also be equipped with 4GB of RAM, but with higher 64GB of onboard memory.

Moving on to camera, the rumor claims the Mi 6 will include a Sony IMX268 8MP autofocus sensor on the front and the 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor at the back. If the rumor is indeed accurate, this is not great news, as the IMX386 is a relatively small sensor and does not deliver true flagship-grade image quality. The selfie camera on the other hand, is the same one that we have seen on the Mi Note 2.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to go on sale around April this year, although we wouldn’t be surprised if it is delayed further, as Qualcomm is expected to begin supply the Snapdragon 835 chips to Xiaomi and other manufacturers only after mid-April. Until then, Qualcomm will be prioritizing Samsung over everyone else.
