The new flagship will be launched in spring. I don’t mention exact launch date because no one knows when it will happen. First it was said the Xiaomi Mi 6 will release in March. But this news was denied – the Mi 6 launch date was pushed back to April. These date changes are conditioned with the Snapdragon 835 SoC that should be the key feature of this handset. But LG and Samsung had made bids for this chipset as well. As a results, it was announced there are production capacity problems. Today it was rumored there will be only one handset with the SND835 processor – the Samsung Galaxy S8. This caused a stir, but the new info spotted in the net shows the Xiaomi Mi 6 can break the bank even without this CPU. Let’s see what news has been leaked today.
As you remember, the current Mi series flagship in face of the Xiaomi Mi 5S lacked a ceramic body, and it was the biggest disappointment of Mi fans. Seems the Chinese Apple is going to fill this gap – the Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport a ceramic body.
However, earlier we have heard there will be three versions of Xiaomi Mi 6 – curved (Snapdragon 835) and flat (Snapdragon 835 and MediaTek Helio X30). The premium variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been thought to be the curved model. So we have all reasons to think the ceramic housing will refer to this version as well.
Moreover, the flat version is rumored to come with a 4GB of RAM, while the curved version should sport a 6GB memory. As for the rest of features, it will be packed with a 3000mAh battery, 12MP IMX362 sensor, Android 7.0 Nougat, 128 GB / 256GB of ROM, and the price will start at 1999 yuan ($290).
