It turns out the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be released in April, as we have heard earlier. The reason why this happens remains the same – short supply of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. We can take this info differently. Of course, it’s disappointed to wait for a few more months. But on the other hand, this info means the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be packed with the latest creation of Qualcomm. Probably you know there have been many rumors saying the forthcoming flagship of the company will sport its own-made Pinecone V970 SoC. Now it turns out at least one version of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 835.
Actually this news cancels the leak as the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched in March. But we are more interested in the features it will come with. Another leaked info showed the standard version of the Mi 6 will feature a Full HD screen, 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM, while the high version should come with a WQHD display and memory combination of 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. Other than that, the Mi 6 will be packed with a ceramic housing, the IMX268 sensor at 8MP on the front like the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and the IMX386 sensor at 12MP on the back like the Meizu MX6.
This means the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be available in two variants. On one hand, we can assume this announcement confirms the early leak, as the Mi 6 will come in two version. But on the other hand, if there is also the third variant powered with the Pinecone chip, we can recall the leak as the phone will be available in three versions. If there is no self-developed processor on this device, the price can be set higher than on previous-gen Mi phones.
However, the last thing we worry about is whether the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S 8 powered with the same CPU. It turns out both models will hit the market in April. So everything is fair. It’s only left to see how the final features list looks.
