There are a few devices announced to sport a Snapdragon 835. Before the Samsung Galaxy S8 was released we have heard about the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and HTC U Ocean. The next model to come with this chip should be the Xiaomi Mi 6. This causes no doubts, but when it will happen still remains unknown. Today Lei Jun clearly said the Mi 6 will be launched next month. Honestly, we knew this. So it’s better to hear an exact date. Before the manufacturer decides when to disclose the exact launch date, let’s take a look at the news and photos leaked today.
1. Today the Xiaomi Mi 6 3C certification was leaked in documents, meaning it’s ready for launch. The device was certified on March 29. The first thing we learn from the document refers to the charger with a model number of MCE16. It comes with a few output options: 5V, 3A / 9V, 2A / 12V, 1.5A as well as a minimum power of 15W, a maximum power of 18W, and fast charge support. In comparison to the previous-gen Xiaomi Mi 5S that comes with a MDY-08-EH charger featuring output 5V, 2.5A / 9V, 2A / 12V, 1.5A, a minimum power of 12.5W, and a maximum output power of 18W, there are only little changes.
2. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been rumored to cost only 1999 yuan ($299). Regardless the fact how attractive it sounds, many doubt the next-gen flagship of Xiaomi will cost so low. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 costs $45-50. Therefore, it seems unreasonable to price the Mi 6 so low. But today it’s become known the chip maker has discounted this SoC for Xiaomi, and the latter got it for only $30. Probably, this is the price Qualcomm pays for letting Samsung become the first brand releasing a SND835-powered smartphone.
3. Seems we have been sure the Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport a traditional design with a changed back panel. Particularly, the layout of two sensors as well as the LED light is horizontal. Plus, they are too close to the upper left corner. But the latest leaks break anything we have known about this device. It turns out the phone comes with no bottom line. Thus the company has put the fingerprint scanner under the glass. Other than that, the rear camera comes in with a vertical layout. The LED flash is placed between two lenses. Many may think this is another model. Say, it may be the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus. But keep on reading and you’ll find out more on this phone.
4. The latest news leaked today refer to the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus. According to those leaks, the Mi 6 Plus comes with a 5S-like Home button, which differs from leaked Mi 6’s under-glass fingerprint recognition. The back panel carries a dual-camera, but it differs from what we have seen earlier. Other than that, this model comes with too narrow bezels as well as curved rear panel.
All these leaks change the thinking we have had before them. But whether they are true is a big secret.
