Ahead of the announcement of Mi 6, Xiaomi began rolling out a new software update for current flagship model. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is now receiving MIUI 8.2, which brings a bunch of new features and improvements, and is also based on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
The update is 1.3 GB in size and besides the standard Nougat features and improvements, the update also brings a few other changes. There is a new security center, support for task automation IFTTT, a new desktop assistant, new system sounds and a redesigned notification bar.
