In a recent announcement, Lei Jun, Co-founder of Xiaomi announced latest price cuts for its Mi 5 line of devices. While announcing about the price cut, Mr. Jun told that he wants more and more people to experience its flagship line of devices.
The prices of the Mi 5 have been slashed 200 Yuan (about $30) flat for all the variants of Mi 5. The price cut will be effective from 10 PM, August 15 across all the Mi stores in China including Mi mall and Mi home. However, the online price cut will be effective in Mi Online store from 10 AM on August, 16.
Revised Prices of Xiaomi Mi 5
After the price cut announcement, the starting price for the Mi 5 series phone will be 1799 Yuan for the 3 GB, 32 GB standard edition variant. The other 2 variants of the device will be costing 2099 Yuan and 2499 Yuan for the 3 GB, 64 GB; and the 4 GB, 128 GB variants respectively.
About Mi 5
In case you are unaware, Mi 5 is the latest flagship device from Xiaomi that was announced globally in Feb at MWC, 2016 in Barcelona. The device sports top-notch specifications, and hardware that’s in line with few other high-end flagship devices including the OnePlus 3, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, etc. Mi 5 has a 5.15″ full HD display running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Mi UI 7 on top of it. In terms of hardware specs, the device is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor with 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM for the standard and prime editions respectively.
Needless to mention the device also supports other connectivity options as available in other high-end devices including 4G Band 3, 5, 40, 41 with VoLTE; Bluetooth, Infrared (to be used as a remote control), etc.
