Year by year, Xiaomi is setting new milestones regarding smartphone sales. The company is already the top smartphone manufacturer in India as per a report from Canalys and also, among the top 5 best selling phones of 2017, three are from Xiaomi. If you don’t know, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the best selling smartphone in India in 2017, and the same story was seen with the Redmi Note 3 of 2016. Now, a report by IDC (International Data Corporation) has revealed that Xiaomi is the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world. Also, Xiaomi is back to the list of top 5 smartphone makers in the world by beating Vivo.
Xiaomi’s shipment grew from 74.5 Percent to 92.4 million units and the company was able to beat Vivo to capture the 4th spot in the world. Talking about the total shipments by the company, Xiaomi has shipped 14.3 Million smartphones in 2017, and one of the most impressive things is that Xiaomi showed a growth of 96.9% which is beyond amazing. In the holiday quarter last year, the company doubled its share from 3.3% to 7%.
The company is getting huge success in the Indian market as every phone that Xiaomi has launched so far sold like hot cakes, The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a great example of this as about a million units of the phone were sold in just a month that shows the popularity of Xiaomi in the Indian market. The company is already selling its phones successfully in China, India, Russia etc. and is looking to increase its reach in other markets also.
Xiaomi India’s Vice President, Manu Kumar Jain, tweeted on Twitter by saying –
