Xiaomi’s Mi Band is one of the most popular smartbands in the globe. But it’ll be naïve to think there are n? other brands offering such products. And I am not talking about Apple or Samsung. Well, the picture of this niche has changed a lot. So let’s take a peek at the table showing which brand is on the first position.
According to the data provided by IDC, total shipments of smartbands have reached 33.9 million in 2016, Q4. Thus it increased by 16.9%. The first place I occupied by Fitbit – it has sold 6.5 million units. While you can think it’s a good sales number, Fitbit sees difficult times, because the shipped number decreased by 22.7% in comparison to Q4, 2015 (8.4 million). However, this number still provides the first place for the company.
Xiaomi has doubled its sales number and now it’s on the second place with 5.2 million shipped units. This is not accidental, because the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has come with a list of improvements. Therefore it wins users’ hearts easily.
As for Apple, it doesn’t may much attention to this niche. That’s why it has sold 4.6 million units that only provides a growth of 13%.
Garmin has shipped 2.1 million in Q4, 2016, while Samsung’s sales number is 1.9 million.
As for the whole year, Fitbit has sold 22.5 million units that corresponds to 22% of market share. Xiaomi is the second with 15.7 million sold units. And this is a real progress for the company, as it sold 12 million units in 2015. Apple has sold 10.7 million units (10.5% of market share); Garmin’s number is 6.1 million sold smartbands (5.9%), and Samsung is the fifth one with 4.4 million sold units (4.3% of market share).
As you see, the Xiaomi Mi Band is a quite popular smartband in the world. But this is not accidental, because this product really looks and acts perfectly.
